Diverse congregation in a modern church sanctuary, many members following along on their smartphones

Why we built this

Church Translation Live exists because language should never be the reason someone sits through a service they cannot understand.

The problem we saw

In churches across the UK, Europe, and beyond, millions of members sit through services in a language they understand only partially. They are present in body but absent from the message. Some have been attending for years, faithful and committed, yet regularly missing 60–70% of what is preached.

The traditional solution — volunteer interpreter booths and headsets — is expensive, requires specialist equipment, and depends on a small number of skilled people. Many churches simply cannot access it. Others tried it and found that the headsets break, the volunteers burn out, and the system doesn't scale.

We believed technology had reached the point where something better was possible. Real-time AI translation had matured enough to be genuinely usable. Smartphones were everywhere. The church had a need, and the tools to meet it finally existed.

Our mission

We are building tools that make the Gospel accessible across language barriers. That is the whole mission. Church Translation Live is our first product in this space — and we built it to work for real churches, with real constraints: limited budgets, volunteer tech teams, and services that begin in 15 minutes.

Part of the Christian360 Network

Church Translation Live is part of the Christian360 Network — digital tools for churches, publishers, and faith organisations. The network has been building technology for the church sector for over a decade, with a particular focus on tools that serve mission rather than replace it.

The platform behind Church Translation Live is the same platform that powers digital publishing, event management, and community tools for dozens of Christian organisations — meaning your data is held with the same infrastructure, security, and GDPR compliance as a larger enterprise product.

Our values

Simplicity. The best tool is the one that gets used. If setup takes an hour and requires a specialist, it won't be used. We hold ourselves to a standard of 15-minute setup by a non-technical volunteer.

Theological integrity. We take seriously the responsibility of translating the preached word. Our church-aware AI is designed to preserve doctrinal meaning — not just surface words. We consult with theologians and pastors to test and improve it.

Accessibility. Price should not be a barrier. That is why we offer a free tier that is genuinely useful for small churches — not a crippled demo.

Complementing, not replacing. Your volunteer interpreters are part of the ministry of your church. Church Translation Live extends their reach — it does not make them redundant. Our human interpreter channels are designed to work alongside AI, not to replace human presence.
